Shaun and Sarah’s Story

You know those moments in life where something happens, where there is a connection that you JUST
KNOW was meant to be?

This is one of those stories……
Let me back up a little bit. I have a long-time connection and passion for Minnesota Adult and Teen
Challenge (MNTC), an amazing non-profit licensed drug & alcohol treatment and recovery program.
Many years ago, a loved one of mine was struggling with addiction and entered their one-year program.
During that time, they successfully found sobriety and healing as well as completed necessary credits to
receive a high school diploma simultaneously. Now happily married, a successful career, a homeowner –
a life transformed!

Just last year I was connected to a couple who work for MNTC, both who had graduated the recovery
program and were looking to buy their first home.

Enter Shaun & Sarah …. Sarah graduated the program 2 years ago and is now a Recovery Coach
Supervisor and Shaun graduated the program over 7 years ago and is a Food Services Supervisor. They
met through a work email and let’s just say the sparks flew!

After a brief email introduction with Shaun at the end of October 2021, I connected them to a great
lender to get the ball rolling. We meet and walked through the home buying process, answered lots of
questions, set up a home search and a week later we were looking at houses.

Shaun and Sarah moved into their new home in December of 2021 … just 40 days after our very first
meeting and just in time to celebrate Christmas in their very own place!

I love this story because of the many layers of connection, I know Shaun & Sarah will make a difference
in their new community. I am grateful that I have the honor of meeting some of the most amazing
people and helping them make their dream of home ownership a reality.
